Driving Directions
Getting here is easy! We're located at 406 Acacia Bay Road, just 3 kilometres (a quick 5-minute drive) from Taupō's town centre. Set in 5 acres of peaceful, sheltered grounds surrounded by farmland, we're far enough from the hustle to feel like a true escape, but close enough to everything you need.
From the North
- From State Highway 1 turn right at the traffic circle into Wairakei Drive.
- Just past the Rangatira Park Look Out Point take the Acacia Bay/Kinloch turnoff into Poihipi Road.
- Take first left into Acacia Bay Road and continue straight for approx. 3 kms to find Great Lake Holiday Park on the right hand side.
From the South
- From State Highway 1 through Taupō Central veer onto Spa Road and turn left at roundabout into Wairakei Drive.
- Cross Control Gate Bridge, take first turn to the left into Norman Smith Street.
- Norman Smith Street veers left into Acacia Bay Road. Continue straight for approx. 1.8 kms to find Great Lake Holiday Park on the right hand side.

What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check-in: From 1:00 pm for campsites and 3:00 pm for cabins.

If you arrive after reception hours, please use the Late Arrivals Board to the right of the office door for your check-in instructions.

Do you offer discounts for NZMCA or Campsaver members?
Yes! We offer NZMCA and Campsaver members up to 20% off standard rates. This discount excludes peak season, statutory weekends, and event weekends. Simply book online at the normal rate, present your valid membership card upon arrival, and we'll refund the difference.
What is your cancellation policy?

Peak Season: No refunds.

Other bookings: Cancellations within 7 days of arrival are non-refundable. Cancellations 8+ days in advance are refunded less bank fees and a $30 administration fee.

No shows & early departures: No refund.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we are a dog-friendly park outside of peak season! A daily charge of $5 per dog applies. Dogs are not permitted during peak season (20 December – 31 January, plus statutory and event weekends). All dogs must be kept on a lead, supervised at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.
What are your quiet hours?
Quiet hours are strictly between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am. No music or radios are permitted after 10:00 pm. Excessive drinking, parties, and drug use are strictly forbidden. A $150 call-out fee applies if management is called out past curfew due to noise.
Are visitors allowed at the park?
Visitors must report to the office upon arrival for security reasons. They are your responsibility and must depart by 10:00 pm. No visitors are permitted during peak season.
