Before you hit that 'Book Now' button, here's the fine print—deposits, cancellations, check-in times, and a few park rules to keep things running smoothly. Nothing too scary, we promise! If you're unsure about anything, just give us a shout.
BOOKING TERMS
Please take a moment to read through our full booking terms below—they cover everything from deposits and cancellations to check-in times and park rules. These terms will apply to your booking, so it's worth a quick read (especially if your plans change!). If anything's unclear, we're just a phone call away.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
All cancellations must be emailed to info@greatlake.co.nz.
(Please note: we can't offer refunds for bad weather—Mother Nature does her own thing!)
Peak Season

No refunds, sorry—peak season bookings are locked in.
Off-Peak Season

Changed your mind within 7 days of arrival? Unfortunately, no refund.

Let us know 8 days or more in advance? You'll get your money back, less bank fees and a $30 admin fee
A Few More Important Bits:

Bookings are strictly non-transferable. The person who books must be the one staying and is responsible for everyone in their group.

Need to change your dates? You can make alterations before your cancellation cut-off, subject to availability and management approval. A $30 admin fee applies, and you might need to move to a different unit or site.

Noise & Conduct
All guests must restrict their noise level between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am. No music or radios after 10:00 pm.
Alcohol & Drugs

Excessive drinking and parties are strictly forbidden.

Drug use is strictly forbidden.

Alcohol must be consumed on your site or in your cabin—please don't wander around with it, or it may be confiscated.
Gang Insignia
-
No gang insignia, including patches, are to be worn or displayed within the park grounds.
Management Rights
Management reserves the right to:
-
Ask you to reduce or stop noise levels at any time if deemed excessive or offensive.
-
Charge a minimum $150 call-out fee if management or staff are called out past the 10:00 pm curfew due to excessive noise or disruptions.
-
Ask you to leave if you do not conduct yourself in a decent and reasonable manner, causing damage, disturbing other guests, using unacceptable language or otherwise breaking Park Rules. No refund will be given, and charges will apply for any damage caused.

Determine what constitutes excessive noise and disruption based on the impact on the overall guest experience.
Damages
Liability Waiver
Great Lake Holiday Park shall not be liable to the customer, and the customer hereby waives all claims against the Park, for:

Any injury or damage to any person or property in the Park.

Any injury or damage as a result of an act of God or natural disaster in the Park.
-
Any interruption of electrical service or any other utility service to the Park.
-
Any act or neglect of other guests, occupants, or employees in the Park.
-
Any other thing or circumstance whatsoever.
Property at Owner's Risk
All property in the Park belonging to the guest, their visitors, or invitees shall be there solely at the risk of the guest.
Damages & Cleaning
In the event of damages, breakages, or if additional cleaning is required, management reserves the right to charge additional costs.

Late Arrivals
If you arrive and the reception office is closed, please head to the Late Arrivals Board located to the right of the Reception Office door. Find the slip with your last name, and you'll find all the information you need to get settled.

Rates, Deposits & Payments
Rates
Please refer to our online booking system for up-to-date rates.
Deposit
- All online bookings will be charged in full at the time of the booking.

No refunds will be issued for late arrival, early departure, or reduction in booked numbers.
Bank Fee

A surcharge of 1.5% is payable on all credit card payments.
-
No fee applies to EFTPOS payments.
Guest Ages

Dogs
To ensure that everyone gets the best experience, dogs are not permitted during our peak season. A daily charge of $5 per dog applies outside of peak season.
Dog Rules

Your dog must be kept on your site and is not allowed in any other area of the park (except to be walked on a lead from your site to the front gate).

Your dog must be supervised at all times and never left unattended—including inside your tent, caravan, or campervan.
-
When outside, your dog must be on a lead at all times and kept within the boundaries of your site.
-
Dog owners are responsible for picking up and disposing of their dog's waste in a sealed bag in a rubbish bin.
-
Dog owners are responsible for their dog's behaviour and for any and all injuries, property damage, or losses caused by or because of their dog.
If dogs are a nuisance to other guests, management will ask you to vacate the park with your dog.
Cats
Regrettably, no cats are allowed.
Smoking & Vaping
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in the following areas:

Units and cabins

Main kitchen

Bathroom buildings
Please smoke or vape only in designated outdoor areas and dispose of butts responsibly.
Parking
Cabins
Cabins have one allocated parking space per booking.
Campsites
There are no additional or separate parking spaces for campsites. You are allocated a campsite, and you need to ensure that everything fits on it.
Extra Parking
Should you wish to bring additional vehicles, trailers, boats, etc., please contact us before making your booking. Additional costs may apply.
Campsite & Cabin Selection
The allocation of campsites and units is at the discretion of our management, who make adjustments if necessary. Your requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
Visitors
Got friends stopping by? Great! Just pop into the office with them first—security and all that. They're your responsibility while they're here, and we kindly ask that they head off by 10:00 pm. During peak season, we keep it to registered guests only—no visitors, sorry!
NZMCA / Campsaver
Members – Save Up to 20%!
We offer NZMCA and Campsaver members discounted rates of up to 20% off our standard rates. Please note:

Discounts do not apply during peak season, statutory weekends, or event weekends.

Pay the normal rate when booking online, then present your valid NZMCA membership card upon arrival—we'll refund the difference.
Other Discounts
From time to time, we offer promotional discounts that may provide greater savings than the Campsaver rate. Check the Great Lake Holiday Park website homepage for current offers.
Please note: Discounts cannot be stacked on top of each other.
Electrical WOF & Tent RCD Lead
For the safety of all guests and our electrical infrastructure:

Vehicles using powered sites must have a current electrical Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and certification.
-
Tents must be equipped with the correct Tent RCD lead.
